Whoo boy, looks like we’re getting closer to the release of the next halo 3 map pack. I haven’t been keeping up with the times, but it seems like this will end up with free legendary maps…
Apparently its been going around that Duke Nukem 3d is coming out for XBLA. The release date is september, so you won’t be able to play it this summer.
My thoughts? I’m not very excited even though I did enjoy the original game. I haven’t heard if they’re going to be something like the Marathon port with better textures, resolutions, etc, but It -Oh Wait, you can already get all those enhancements for the PC version, and you can probably get a version running on a more stable engine. Huh. The good side of this? Multiplayer. They’re will be co-op, leaderboards, deathmatch, all the standard multiplayer you expect. Of course, this is better than the PC version, because you won’t have to do all kinds of crazy shit just to get it running over the internet(Or get it running at all over Vista).
The game has an unannounced price(800 points expected), and is released in Spetember.
God, Counter Strike Source has a shitty online community. They’re obsessed with mouses, and lag, and every possible reason why they could die or lose. Get a life, jeez. It’s a game. So treat it like one. No need to show off how good you are at sniping, or using a gun or whatever you feel like BSing about. Just play the game, and if you lose, you lose, if you win, you win.
A question I had when I heard about left 4 deadwas simple. Why didn’t anybody think of this sooner? I mean come on, zombies are basically one of the most overused pop culture bad guys! In all the horror movies, its never a single person against hordes of zombies. No, its a group of four or five survivors. The group has various dynamics, 1 wounded, 1 badass, 1 helpless person who becomes a badass, one scared guy, etc, etc.
So why no co-op? There’s only been one co-op zombie game I know of, and that was Resident Evil Outbreak, a so-so game that used playstation 2′s online service. Hell, why are there only like 4~5 zombie games even worth playing(all the Capcom games)? Even recently, when there was a whole xbox live service available for Capcom they didn’t include multiplayer of any kind in Dead Rising.
Why does multiplayer hate zombies?
1: Because zombies are so darn weak. In any game, the developer must retain a semblance of fairness between the players. In single player zombie games, the player is usually much more powerful than the zombies, and he doesn’t really have to worry about dieing(unless they play foolishly). The ratio of zombies to humans in most games is usually very high, far too high for you to had more players and have to double it. You could make the zombies more powerful… but that will probably mess with the balance too much. Left 4 Dead was designed to have the zombies quite powerful.
2: Because of story. In all the resident evill games there’s loads of backstory. Sure you can skip the cut scene’s and ignore the documents, but its pretty deep if you want to look into it(they have 6 novels for the games). With Left 4 Dead It doesn’t seem like they’ll be telling you much of a story, as far s you can tell from the stories so far.
3: What Left 4 Dead may do very well is creating dramatic tension between players. If paced properly, then this game could be a hell of a scare. What they could do wrong is to make it an action packed shoot off. If it was anything like half life 2 with an occaisional puzzle, or even a trap or two, it would be, hands down, the best zombie game ever.
Well, that’s enough for today folks. Now to go hide in my cellar with a shotgun and some beer till the game comes out.
Zombies are always fun.. even when they’re in a text based browser game.

just some random nonsense because I lost xbox live.
Today I had to pull my armpit hair out with a pair of pliers…
I’m sorry for ever thinking that girls who said hair removal was painful were stupid.

I came across this feature on joystiq, and I have to say that this really makes fallout 3 look better and better for me. Most ‘hardcore’ fans will probably rage about this anyway, but its still looking pretty good to me anyway. I’ll confess it, I used to think that Fallout 3 wouldn’t be that great. Yes, I was an oldie. Why? I didn’t realize you could switch the combat system bebtween real-time and turn based at will. Yes, just that little detail. Otherwise, I don’t think Fallout 3 by Bethesda is that bad. Hell, I enjoyed Oblivion. Morrowind wasn’t too bad either, a few years back. I guess there’s a few things I could say about this now. First off, I wish the gaming media covered some more of these small details(I know they probably said something about it somewhere, but I don’t read everything in the entire article). Second, I wish the rabid fanboys would shut up. Third, I love FALLOUT.
You know what? Most people don’t care about their hardware on consoles and pc’s, and don’t care about what it’s capable of. All that people want is a smooth gaming experience. This means they don’t want lag, they don’t want frame rates to lock up, and they don’t want glitches.
Why do I believe this? Well, It’s mostly from one game in particular. Team Fortress 2.
The minimum requirements for this game are low in a way uncommon in recent years.
1.2 GHz, 256 MB ram, and DirectX 7 capable card.
The game itself may not be eye candy on a system like that, but It should work ok. But the fact it could run on a pentium 3 is a whopper. The games graphics aren’t even the over staurated middle ware you see in many AAA titles. It’s Cartoonish even.
But its fun. Its one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played, and it really makes me think about how much we “need” the newest hardware.
I play xbox live for a lot of my gaming. I’m sure most people who have read a gaming magazine or gone to a website about games have seen one of those comics in which people say there are “4″ types of gamers. Nine times out of ten, they’re pretty bad jokes, and we’ve all heard them before.
So, I won’t repeat them. They’re mostly forgetable. But there is one type that usually isn’t mentioned that would make you RAAAAGEEEEE if you encountered them. 8-12 year olds who are good at the game.
“Little kids who don’t suck? No Wai!”
Yes they do exist. There are so many reasons why they shouldn’t, but sadly they do. They are worse even then the team killers and greifers out there. Playing against the young-ins who are bad the game is annoying, but when some little punk beats you? That hurts. Really. It makes you wish for the good old !vote kick [playername] from pc games, so that you can kick them out of spite, since they’re noobs and you aren’t.
Or you could just plug in your mic and talk to your team mate.*ehem*
